Description

A label field is probably the simplest of the Controls although its flexibility allows it to be used to represent a wide variety of content. It is important to understand that Label fields are not HTML controls such as Text Box or Checkbox fields. A Label is simply plain text and cannot be used to submit a value in a form.

Due to their read-only nature, Labels are used to present content that should not be altered. For example, grid forms are mainly composed of Label fields. Use Label fields to represent dynamic or static data that does not need to be - or should not be - edited by the end user.
